Bill DeCenso is a Cincinnati native, having graduated from St. Xavier High School. He concentrates his practice in Family Law, solving difficult issues that can arise at the end of a marriage.
Bill retired after nearly 3 decades of practice with Santen & Hughes in June, 2024.
Bill’s approach is simple. Whether he’s asked to draft a prenuptial agreement or a petition for dissolution of a marriage, Bill always begins by listening to his clients’ needs, goals, and interests. Once he understands those things, Bill works with them to develop creative and effective solutions for their situation. Bill often meets a new client during a stressful time in their life, and he’s passionate about guiding his clients through those situations as he works to achieve their goals. Aside from the monetary and business issues involved in the dissolution of a marriage, Bill also counsels his clients as they confront issues involving parenting and child and spousal support. For over 25 years, Bill has primarily practiced in the Collaborative model, which helps couples maintain dignity and respect, protect their children, and focus on what is truly important for their futures.
For decades, Bill has represented a select group of closely-held businesses. He uses this business background in his family law practice, where he routinely confronts issues such as asset and debt division and the valuation of businesses.
Bill says that his key accomplishment, without a doubt, is family. He is blessed with a loving relationship with his wife of 45 years, two successful and thriving children, and four incredible grandchildren.
Bill is an original member of the Cincinnati Academy of Collaborative Professionals. He continues to be recognized year after year in Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in America. He has also received an AV Preeminent rating (5.0 out of 5.0) from Martindale Hubble, all testaments to the fact that his peers rank him at the highest level of professional excellence.
